Expert Tip. Kuala Lumpur has an extensive public transportation system of buses, taxis, monorails and light rail. For a quick trip on the monorail, the fare is roughly USD0.40 0.75, depending on destination. The most convenient way to pay fares is probably the Touch 'n Go card, available at major Rapid KL Rail stations and many other outlets. The pre-paid cards can be initially purchased for roughly US$6, but can be re-loaded in 10 denominations from about US$30 to US$150.
