Batu Caves
Batu Caves is a limestone hill that has a series of caves and cave temples in Gombak, Selangor. The limestone forming Batu Caves is said to be around 400 million years old. Some of the cave entrances were used as shelters by the indigenous Temuan people (a tribe of Orang Asli).
The cave is one of the most popular Hindu shrines outside India, and is dedicated to Lord Murugan. It is the focal point of the Hindu festival of Thaipusam in Malaysia.
Batu Caves in short also referred as 10th Caves or Hill for Lord Muruga as there are six important holy shrines in India and four more in Malaysia. The three others in Malaysia are Kallumalai Temple in Ipoh, Tanneermalai Temple in Penang and Sannasimalai Temple in Malacca.

Reviews

An interesting tour with a friendly guide
Charles_S, 14-09-2022
The trip to the pewter factory was an unexpected highlight of this tour. Our tour guide was excellent. Waterfall is pretty. Hot spring interesting as not many tourists mostly locals. Caves are very good but if you are a woman visitor best to wear longer skirt or trousers as otherwise you will be refused entry ... until you pay 15 ringgit for a cloth cover to tie around your waste.
Highly recommended!

Our tour guide was very knowledgeable, friendly, & helpful. Apart from that, the sight, food, & being close to nature again were something we wouldn't forget. The only downside of this trip was when my dress was stolen by the monkey when we went to the waterfalls. But overall, every part of this tour is worth your time & money.
A great tour in every respect.

The caves and the monkeys were especially interesting. Best of all was the great and plentiful information provided by our wonderful tour guide about everything on the trip! We give him 5 *s without question!
Excellent tour

Really enjoyed this. Our guide and driver had lots of stories and we felt well looked after. The trip to the batik craft shop and the pewter museum were a a bit awkward and not really our thing but the caves was a must see and worth going early then there was a visit to hot springs and a chance to cool off at a waterfall then a spot of lunch. Great day out!
Nice experience
