Tanjung Bulat Jungle Camp is far unique from other lodges in kinabatangan is because this jungle camp is totally own and operated by the local people come from the river people tribe. Coming to TBJC means supporting the local community product as well. Beside that TBJC also situated in a very isolated place in Kinabatangan river compare to other lodges, for example, if you go to the other part of kinabatanga river lodges, 1 monkey will be 10-15 boat watching, but in TBJC, 1 monkey only 1 boat, which is US. We also implement NO MASS TOURIST policy in our jungle camp, which means, in a moment we only allowed 8 traveler maximum to come to our simple and basic jungle camp yet special. This is because we want to give such an authentic privilege for our clients. We also, implement our conservation project called rainforest carbon offset project (tree planting), some of your money we get, we will invest it back to environment by buying tropical seedlings from the local community.

Amazing tour with really nice and passionate tourgides. The place is amazing and exclusive, there are no other tours and people in this area which you can see during the tour. The camp is great and in the middle of the nature. I would definitely recommend this tour if you want to spot the wildlife in the Borneo jungle. We saw everything we wanted to see
In the middle of nowhere
We had a really great time with Afiq and his team. All started per WhatsApp, very good communication and easy to book (beware, as he is a lot in the jungle, he does not have reception all the time so cannot respond within the hour). He answered all our questions and help with organisations of before and after the stay at the Jungle Camp.
The beds were comfortable, the food was tasty and sufficient. If you need snacks during the day, bring your own.
We had rain on the 1st evening so could not do the night activity. Therefore we could go on the morning tour before departure. Very appreciated.
You can organise to do Deramakot before or after this trip. Transportation from one to the other is then organised.
Absolutely great experience all round

Great experience all round! Pick up and drop off easy, the food was excellent, and facilities were clean and usable considering they are in the middle of the jungle. We saw loads of wildlife, ranging from Orangutangs, monkeys and crocodiles to the Rhinocerous Hornbills and a wide variety of kingfishers and other amazing birds.
The staff were brilliant, especially Afiq who made us feel very welcome and was extremely engaging and informative.
Recommend you pack plenty of bug and jungle spray and your own binoculars.
Thoroughly recommend this tour, a must do activity in Sabah!
My daughter and I visited here in early January. Can't fault it. Communication leading up to our stay was great. There were only two other tourists with us which was fab. The highlight was seeing two Orangutans swinging through the tree tops at the back of the camp one morning. Foods was great, accommodation comfortable. And yes, you are literally in the middle of the jungle. Definitely recommend to anyone who wants an authentic Borneo jungle experience.

absolute highlight of our 2 week trip to Malaysia & Brunei - we were lucky to watch for more than an hour mother and baby orangutans coming to Tanjung Bulat Jungle Casmp as close as 10 meters. proboscis monkeys, langurs, crocodiles, civet cats, all kinds of day and night birds and so on.. Jungle Camp and people maintaining the place were fantastic too, facilities and food basic, but really good. no crowds and other camps / lodges nearby due to location on the lake behind the main river - true jungle experience, probably the best Kinabatangan region can possibly offer. thanks again!
