What To Expect

Penang Hill
Since the British first settled here, they had always yearn for respite from the depressing heat, thus they set sight on the highest peak in Penang i.e. Penang Hill or locally known as Bukit Bendera. They built a railway up the hill and bungalows for retreat during weekend. Here we can see the legacy of the bungalows left behind by the British beside experiencing a colder climate compared to lowland. See 360 degree view of George Town, Love Lock, Ginger Garden and monkeys!

Kek Lok Si Temple
During the British era the Chinese flourished and thrived. They practiced their religion steadfastly and built many temples that rivaled those in China, if not better! One of the better one is Kek Lok Si, better described as the largest Buddhist's theme park in South East Asia. Learn all about Buddhism, Taoism and Confucianism at the temple. There is a saying here in Penang - "you have not been to Penang if you have not been to Penang Hill and Kek Lok Si".

Penang Botanical Gardens
Penang Botanic Gardens are the Pride of Penang. This beautifully manicured lush 50 hectare park of tropical forest, also known as Waterfall Gardens. Penang Botanical Garden has been a feature of George Town life since it was established way back in 1884. One advantage that Penang Botanical Garden has over the others is its wonderful setting with Penang Hill as a backdrop and a cascading stream running through it to provide some welcome cooling breezes. Here see cannonball trees, agar wood, poisonous ipoh tree, mahogany and long tail macaque monkeys.

Our guide Eng Seong was exceptional, friendly, professional and shared his extensive knowledge of Penang and Malaysia. We learned so much on the day and loved our visit to Kek Lok Si and the sites of Georgetown. Highly recommend this tour and if you are lucky you may get Eng Seong. A +++.

Excellent tour guide! Passionate, genuine, knowledgeable of fauna/flora of Penang Hill and not a clock watcher. She was very attentive to our experience and made sure we are all right throughout. We had an amazing time with CE, we learned so much from her.
