What To Expect

Eagle Square
Langkawi, the jewel of Kedah, derives its name from the red backed Eagle which rules the skies above the island. Legend has it that the ‘Lang’ comes from the Malay word ‘helang’, which means Eagle, and the ‘Kawi’ comes from the word meaning marble. The convocation of Eagles flying high in the sky and a land full of marble do lend some credibility to this legend.

Dataran Lang conveniently called as the Eagle Square, celebrates these majestic birds of Langkawi. It is an iconic statue located on the southern part of Pulau Langkawi, on the Kuah Jetty. The Eagle Square has an impressive 12 metre tall statue of a red backed Eagle standing on a blue star shaped platform. It is surrounded by forest covered mountains on one side and the open Andaman Sea on the other. With its wings spread, the Eagle of Dataran Lang looks ready to soar into the sky.

Durian Perangin Waterfall
ATV Fun ride to Durian Perangin Waterfalls is a 14-tier waterfall cascading down the slopes of Gunung Raya, on the northeastern part of Pulau Langkawi. A short distance of walkway and pavillion was built at the lower reaches of Durian Perangin, but sadly, was also poorly maintained.

Climbing up the path along the side of the cascade eventually brings you to a lovely pool which is good for a dip after the long climb. Unlike other attractions in Pulau Langkawi, Durian Perangin Waterfalls is often overlooked by visitors as it is slightly out of the way, and can only be reached by rented ATV.

You can choose the single rider or double rider ATV at your own cost

Langkawi Sky Bridge
Langkawi Sky Bridge is a 125-metre (410 ft) curved pedestrian cable-stayed bridge in Malaysia, completed in 2005.[3] The bridge deck is 660 metres (2,170 ft) above sea level at the peak of Gunung Mat Cincang on Pulau Langkawi, the main island of the Langkawi archipelago in Kedah.[4] The Langkawi Sky Bridge can be reached by first taking the Langkawi Cable Car to the Top Station, where an inclined lift called SkyGlide takes visitors from the Top Station down to the bridge.[5]

The bridge was closed in July 2012 for maintenance and upgrading. The reopening was put off several times, but it partially reopened in February 2015.[6] The bridge is now fully accessible.
