Overview

Kuala Lumpur is a potpouri of diverse cultures with Malays, Chinese and Indians. The colonial landmarks are Sultan Abdul Samad Building, St Mary's Cathedral, Jamek Mosque are British architectural marvels. We got our Independence from the British on 31 August 1957. Design are usually Moorish or Tudor styled and come under a heritage trust. Places of visit would be National Monument, National Mosque, Old Railway Station, Abdul Samad Building, Masjid Jamek, Little India and Bustling Chinatown.

Royal Selangor Visitor Centre
Tin is mined in Malaysia and Pewter is a combination of tin, copper and antimony to make exclusive handicrafts, A guided factory tour awaits you and all items are hand crafted. This is school of hard knocks.

Batu Caves
Visit the iconic and colorful Batu Caves and climb 272 steps into the temple of Hindu Deity who is honored during Thaipusam every year. Its during this time that devotees who have gotten their vows fulfilled, come by to pay homage and thanksgiving. Usually the crowd swells to nearly 1 million with people coming from afar during the Thaipusam festival every year in January or February. The 140 feet Statue of a Deity is mesmerizing.

Sultan Abdul Samad Building
This area is iconic in that it has the most beautiful buildings of Moorish and Tudor styled architecture built by the British. A Much photographed place. It is here that Malaysia got her Independence on 31 August 1957 from the British. St Mary's Anglican Church has the Queen of England as its Patron and the Clubhouse is a relaxation club for the elites.

Little India Brickfields
This place is specially designated for the Indian Community with Indian restaurants and shops selling mainly traditional Indian goods as in sarees, Bollywood music, flowers, local Indian delicacies and sweets. After a photo shoot session, you will be treated to a unique Banana Leaf lunch and you eat with your fingers - a take home experience !

Jamek Mosque
The Jamek Mosque is also an iconic landmark and the oldest. It was built by the British with Mughal, Islamic and Moorish design architecture. It is here that Kuala Lumpur got her name at the confluence of 2 rivers - the Gombak and Klang Rivers. Kuala is estuary and Lumpur is Mud.

National Monument

A drive past a bustling and colorful Petaling Street better known as Chinatown selling a variety of items from fashion clothings to electronics to exotic foods. Pre war houses and beautiful temples and sprawling flea markets. You could get your fake Rolex watches and T shirts of all brands faked.
