Cameron Highlands in Pahang is one of Malaysia's most popular tourist destinations, a collection of peaceful townships perched 1500 meters high on a nest of serene mountains. Cooling resorts, tea plantations and strawberry farms sprawl lazily across lush valleys and meandering hillslopes, the perfect setting for a relaxing holiday.

The sea of tranquility, pleasant landscapes and cold climate impart a special experience upon the multitudes of visitors each year. Meanwhile, a different world lies hidden away among the natural surroundings - a rainforest ecosystem rich with the wonders of nature, long held with fascination by researchers and naturalists across the world.

What To Expect

Lata Iskandar
Lata Iskandar is a waterfall along the trunk road from Tapah to Cameron Highlands, located about 25km before Ringlet. The waterfall cascades over several tiers of granite slopes, with the last drop at 25 meters high flowing into a small pool below, before resuming its journey as a narrow stream. On weekends, the waterfall is overun by tourists and local visitors.

THey congregate tightly under the cold shower of the falls, or perch themselves for photos along its rocky ledges. Ramshackle shops and stalls, nestled along the main road facing Lata Iskandar, provide shopping opportunities for ethnic souvenirs, tribal handicrafts, strange herbs, tropical fruits and even aphrodisiacs.

Cameron Valley Tea House
Cameron Valley or Bharat Tea Estate is located at the main road going up to Tanah Rata from Ringlet. It has great views of the estate from the tea and souvenir shop located around 5 km up from Ringlet on the main Tanah Rata road.

A pioneer business family of Cameron Highlands, originated from Uttar Pradesh, India. the Bharat Group of Companies established here since 1933, today comprises of a total of eight companies, of which Cameron Bharat Platations is the most renowed.

It is the second largest tea producer in Malaysia, producing Cameron Valley Tea which is synonymous with exquisite highland tea. Cameron Valley tea shop offers tea with cakes, scones with cream and strawberry jam, just the perfect accompaniment on a visit to the highlands. An audio-video presentation provides visitors a glimpse into what goes into making the perfect cup of tea.

Agro Technology Park in MARDI
The Park was launched on June 14. The brainchild of Malaysian Research and Development Institute (MARDI), the Park received 100,000 visitors annually. The idea to turn the former research station opened in 1926 by the British to an agrotechnology park came from the Agriculture Minister Datuk Dr Effendi Norwawi three years ago. The British handed over the park to MARDI some 22 years ago.

The Park is actually MARDI's oldest research station in the country and since Cameron Highland is a popular tourist destination, MARDI has followed through on the idea to turn it into an Agrotechnology Park

Raju Hill Strawberry Farm
Raju Hill is one of the well known strawberry farms in the area.Tourists can freely visit the farms. Entrance is for free and everyone who visits can get a free tour of the strawberry field and the actual processing plant which is one of the most remarkable sights of Pahang.

You can show your appreciation to the tour by purchasing products that were processed right in the farm. The prices in the strawberry farms are really cheap so that you can practically shop for most things.

Ee Feng Gu Bee Farm
The honey bee farm grows an assortment of flowers as a source of food supply for bees to extract the nectar which the bees convert to honey. Visiting an apiary can be quite an educational experience as one can find out more about the life cycle of bees and how the honey is extracted from the beehive.

History

BOH Plantations was founded in 1929 by J.A. Russel, a British businessman during the British colonial era in Malaya. He was optimistic of the tea plantation business due to huge demands despite of the world-wide Great Depression at that time. As a result of the potential, he applied for and was granted a concession of land for his first tea garden in Habu, Cameron Highlands.

Today, BOH Plantations owns three tea gardens - the first garden in Habu, Fairlie Tea Garden and Sungai Palas Tea Garden. To ensure the freshness of its tea products, BOH Plantations also set up a packaging factory near its main garden. BOH tea products are distributed both in domestic and international markets.

The current slogan of BOH tea products is "BOH ada Ummph!" (BOH puts the Ummph!)

BOH Tea Plantation

BOH Tea Plantation is a must-visit place when you are in Cameron Highlands Scenic, tranquil & cool fresh air! The road journey to the BOH Tea Plantation is quite an adventure itself. Boh Tea Plantation has a total of 8000 acres planted with tea. The largest tea plantation in Southeast Asia. Road is narrow and winding. Do give a honk or two while negotiating a corner to let oncoming traffic know there is a car coming. Gets kind of fun to honk the horn after a while!

Put narrow roads aside,the view of green rolling hills, with the neat regular rows of tea plants, is truely breathtaking & refreshing ! Many a times, you may want to stop your car, and just walk in the tea plantation and pick some tea leafs yourself!

The Sg Palas 'ummph!' BOH TEA Plantation offers a FREE guided factory tour of how the tea leaf is processed. Don't forget to visit a very nice BOH TEA SHOP nearby & pamper yourself with a nice cup of tea, cakes & enjoy the enchanting ambience & view of the BOH TEA Plantation !

Location: Kea FarmCameron Highlands Rose Centre has been established since 1989. After a few years of hard work, this vegetable farm has been transformed into a scenic rose garden. In the beginning, it was free of charge for every entry. But from the mid of 1993, Rose Centre has started to collect RM 1per person for entrance fees. Then in 1994, each entrance for adults was RM2 and RM 1 for kids. The price was increased to RM 1 each for adults and RM 0.50 for kids respectively from year 1993 - 1996.

The Rose Centre Kea Farm Cameron Highlands, situated approximately 5 km from Brinchang & spread over 10 levels of terrace, is the coolest village & the biggest tourist center in Cameron Highlands.

Beside enjoying the splendour rose blooming of 100 over varieties in every imaginable colour, you'll also be fascinated as you venture through an exhilarating hourney of various cultural murals, colourful stone sculptures which blends well with the landscaping.

The architecture or Rose Centre is combined by both the western and eastern design. When someone enter the Carp-shape entrance of Rose Centre, they can definitely feel the comfortable and relaxing atmosphere surrounded by varieties of flowers including the "black" and "green" roses. Some of them are imported while others are locally planted. Rose Centre has also set up a tourist information centre for the public. It is one of the conveniences prepared for the public who wish to get more information and know more about the history of the whole growing process. Therefore, visiting Rose Centre is definitely a must when visiting Cameron Highlands because that is one of the best scenario and breathtaking place and the entry charges is also very reasonable.

Lavendar Garden.

Purple haze lavender farm is not very large but beautiful landscaped lavender garden is enought for visitor to take a photo. This garden also have facilities like cafe, souvenir shop, games centre & mini bee histroy section.
