Overview

Taman Negara is a 130 million years old tropical rainforest with endangered animals as in tigers, elephants, tapirs and more. 14,000 flowering plants, 300 bird species, medicinal and poisonous plants plus aphrodisiacs. Canopy Walkway closed Fridays and during bad weather. Rapids shooting to an aborigine colony deep in the jungle. The ladies shy away, the men 'run' away only to reappear with fire making and hunting tools for a "native" demonstration. The rainforest is their supermarket.

What To Expect

Taman Negara National Park

7.00am - 7.30am Complimentary pick up from your Kuala Lumpur hotel with live commentary. Visit Batu Caves - climb 272 steps into Hindu temple. On arrival at Taman Negara, lunch at Floating Cafe and walk up the Canopy Walkway to have a bird's eye view of the World's oldest rainforest. Fridays Canopy closed. The boatman negotiates 7 sets of rapids to reach an aborigine village. The women shy away and the men 'run' away only to reappear with their fire making and hunting tools for a 'native' demonstration. Nature Guide will belt out facts and taboos of Taman Negara during trekking. You could buy chocolates, tit bits for the children.
You may be lucky to sight monkeys, birds crashing on the canopy above, but if you see a tiger, we ain't sure who is lucky .....!
Return to Kuala Lumpur arriving approximately 8pm. End of tour.

Batu Caves
Batu Caves is a limestone outcrop and abode of Hindu Deity who is honored during the Hindu festival of "Thaipusam". Devotees come in droves to give thanks for vows fulfilled. Ladies must be properly attired to enter the temple - knees and shoulders covered.
The 140 feet Statue of Hindu Deity is mesmerizing and was built by artisans from India.
