Overview

^ UNESCO Malacca is rich in trading history and multicultural heritage dating back to the 1400s. 1511 Portuguese occupation, 1641 Dutch and 1795 British. AS a trading port Chinese brought gold silk and Buddhism, Indians brought Cloth and Hinduism and the Arabs brought perfumes and Islam. The tour visits all important historical attractions as in the Stadthuys, St Peters Church, A Famosa and the iconic Jonkers' Street .

The Chinese and Indian migrants created history by marrying the locals. Chinese known as "Peranakans" and Indians " Chittys".

St. Peter's Church
7.00 am - 7.30am Complimentary pick up from your Kuala Lumpur hotel and depart for Malacca. On arrival visit

Proceed to Malacca and Visit the oldest Roman CatholiSt Peter's Church - oldest Catholic Church built by the Portuguese in 1710. Some of the famous Portuguese are buried in the church and their tombs are visible.

Stadthuys
Home of the Dutch Governor 1650 and now a Historic Dutch Museum. Learn about the history of the Dutch and Portuguese influence. Entrance fee is included.

A Famosa Fort
The Portuguese built the fort in 1512 and St Paul's Chapel was built for St Francis Xavier to do his missionary work. The Dutch took over and later was demolished by the British. What remains is the gateway which is now called the A Famosa. This reflects the oldest of the European architectural remains of the 16th Century ruins.

Jonker Street
Jonkers' Street is a street of antiquities in Chinatown. Have a walkabout to experience the various foods and souvenirs and its colorful rich past. An impact was created by Chinese migrants marrying into the local people. thus forming the Peranakan race.

Cheng Hoon Teng Temple
1640 The oldest Chinese temple that focuses on 3 doctrines - Taoism, Buddhism and Confucianism. It is located at the Street of Harmony and was built as an expression of gratitude for Kapitan Cina Li by his son in law.

Batu Caves
Batu Caves is a limestone outcrop and houses a Cave temple of Hindu Deity honored during Hindu festival of "Thaipusam". It has many other caves and the main cave is used by Hindus as a temple.
It has 272 steps to climb to go into the temple proper. Ladies must be properly attired to enter the temple - knees and shoulders to be covered. The 140 feet statue of Hindu Deity is mesmerizing.
