Worthwhile Day Trip from KL

In reading the history of Malaysia, the city of Melaka came up multiple times. Given the city’s importance in Malaysian history as a trade port and the capital of the Melaka Sultanate, I had to see it while I was visiting!

My tour guide, Mr. Avali, was humorous, professional, and extremely knowledgeable about Melaka and Malaysia as a whole.

The city itself isn’t that big, so a day trip is more than enough time to see all the main sites, and Mr. Avali will make sure you see them!

Overall, expect to be gone for most of the day, but trust me, it’s worth it! 5/5 stars, definitely a must do if you have a week or more in Malaysia and are a history buff like myself!

It was a fantastic and knowledgeable trip. The guide Mr.James is a very lettered, loyal, helpful person. He explained all history of the city from the beginning, even history of Malaysia and that was really interesting! Nice of him. I appreciated. When I've searched about Malacca, for first time I thought that it not so interesting place to visit. But I changed my mind when I reached there and saw that beautiful, picturesque city with meaningfull history and mixed ancient architecture styles. Even with this Corona situation most places are still open. So I could explore a lot of places. Also, I think this trip was so cool because of the guide too. He is literally knows all details about this place. And it was really fascinating. So enjoyed all things. Thank you so much for the organization of such tours.

Very Comprehensive

The tour takes approximately 8-9 hours from KL hotel pick-up of which 3-4 is spent in the coach. The journey is very comfortable with toilet stops on route both ways. The guide is excellent - ours gave a great narrative about the history of Malaysia and Malaka on the way down to the town. You stop at 4-5 locations and have plenty of time to take pictures and wonder around. You get to see all the main attractions and learn a lot about the different groups of people that have lived in the region. Lunch was included and I must admit it was excellent - buffet style with plenty of options. If you have a spare day in KL and want to see something just a little different I would definitely recommend this tour.

10Days in KL- Melaka day trip

The tour bus was punctual, with a very knowledgeable driver in Mr Avalee. he was excellent, giving information on the historical sites visited and insight into the Malaysian cultural landscape, a mixture of fact, fun & anecdotes, which made the two hour drive to Melaka less odious. The tour itself involves a good bit of walking and really can not do the city justice in such a short time, to visit all of the museums and cultural landmarks would take days. In saying that, a good overview was received and should we ever return, more time will be spent. I highly recommend Ivy Holidays for their professionalism and in particular Mr Avalee.
