Overview

Are you ready to experience some of the best-hidden treasures of Kuala Lumpur’s nightlife? Let‘s start off with a locally inspired cocktail infused with typically Malaysian flavours. A group of young entrepreneurs is slowly changing the way the capital city of Malaysia looks and feels. Much of this transformation is taking place in secret, behind obscure doorways. What used to be Brothels are now trendy bars, pubs and cocktail lounges. They blend in really nicely with the traditional street food served in this area for decades now. We will explore these alleys as well as the train station’s street art, murals and graffiti. Enjoy stories of the city‘s history and culture; foods for thought as well as your stomach! This tour comes with a special dish, but we'll keep it a secret until we meet. Speaking of food, we will make sure your stomach is taken care of with a sample from the best street food, including Clay Pot Chicken Rice and more. Catch a glimpse of KL‘s hidden nightlife today!

Great Look at KL After Dark (and in the rain!)
Chodo, 18-09-2022
Danny led a great walk around Petaling Jaya Street market area to see the evening hot spots, excellent food choices and the street art. It poured rain for most of the time but Danny managed successfully around it. We darted from one spot to the next. We particularly enjoyed the street food.
SECRETS OF KL – NIGHTLIFE, STREET ART, COCKTAILS & CRAFT BEERS!

I loved doing this tour with Pauline. She’s a lovely, warm person and we had a lot to chat about while she showed me around Chinatown and surrounding streets.

We tried a great mixture of foods, including fruit, cakes, drinks, noodle & chocolate.

She took us for a cocktail in a great location, and showed me a couple of other “secret” cocktail bars that I’d never have found by myself. I look forward to trying them when I have a last night in KL at the end of my trip.

We also had a look at some amazing street art.

Pauline knows a lot about the area and all the food on offer. She was generous with her advice for things I could do on my own the next day.

I highly recommend this tour.
Tasted the real authentic Malaysian flavours!

Great to learn from the authentic Malaysian cooks. The dishes came with a clear description and patience from the cooks to explain the ingredients and steps to take. The wonderfull smell in our kitchen and the taste of the dishes made us feel like being in Malaysia. The internet connection was super, the course very easy to follow. Would definitely join one again one day to learn more.
Fun & fascinating virtual tour!

There is no need for a virtual reality headset or any fancy gadgets to enjoy this experience – we simply logged in and followed Pauline in her Zoom ‘live stream’ as she meanders her way through the bustling Chow Kit Market! Being the melting pot that the market is, Pauline was eloquent in describing every engrossing fact at each stop that she made. Pauline’s depth and breadth of experience was evident as she articulately narrated the history and trivias of the market. Pauline made it interactive too – our experience was enhanced as she chatted with the peddlers and asked us if we have any questions for them. We could really soak up the atmosphere of the market!

It can be hard to know what to eat and where in KL, but Pauline took us through on an incredible array of street food. There were street vendors and hidden eateries, and Pauline presented and described each street food sampled with such detail, that it got me going ‘ooh’ and ‘ahh’! We could only salivate! We got a good glimpse of Malaysian culture too, just from the virtual sampling of the street food.

The covid-19 fiasco has made physical tours challenging for now; however, this brilliant product from Simply Enak has afforded us with the opportunity to still ‘travel’ and experience such sights, sounds and tastes, all while still being in the comfort and safety of my own home. That’s social-distancing fulfilled! This Virtual Experience makes touring Chow Kit Market and savouring Malaysian street food very well within my virtual reach. It was thoroughly enjoyable, and is indeed the next best thing to a physical tour. Highly recommended.
Best culinary and gems of KL

We had an exciting and fun time with our guide Pauline. She's very experienced and knows all the little gems in the heart of the city! We started off with a tour with a beautiful view of Saloma and KLCC and we walked through Kampung Baru and Chow Kit and had the best foodie culinary trail at both places before heading off to the infamous Chow Kit market. We ended the tour with a nice intimate finish for drinks at The Chow Kit Hotel. I would highly recommend this trip for all locals and tourists alike. The pictures of the food we ate cant do justice to the amazing, amazing taste of Malaysia. Book a tour today to know what it's like first-hand!
