Less than 150 kilometres south-east of Kuala Lumpur is Malacca. The historical city centre was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2008 thanks to the many reminders of its days under Dutch, Portuguese and British rule (as well as others) over the last several centuries. Malacca is also the location of one of the earliest Malay sultanates.
Depart Kuala Lumpur at 9.00am for the comfortable drive down to Malacca where during a walking tour of between 2.5 to 3 hours you'll visit the pink-colored Stadhuys, Cheng Hoon Teng (the oldest Chinese temple in the Peninsular), the Portuguese Fortress Porta de Santiago (built in 1511), St. Paul’s Church (where St. Francis Xavier was once buried) and more.
This 8 hour tour will also have you enjoying a delicious lunch at a local Malay restaurant.
