Overview

Semenggoh Rehabilitation Center, a temporary home for displaced Orang Utans that have been rescued from captivity and young orphaned primates. These animals are re-trained to survive in their natural habitat. They learn how to forage for natural food and build nests in the trees. Many have been returned into the surrounding area. Take a walk on the trails and try to spot semi-wild Orang Utans. There are feeding times scheduled everyday at the feeding platfoam.

24KM from Kuching City marks the Sarawak Cultural Village, an award winning ‘living’ museum spreading over a 17 acre site at the foothills of Mount Santubong. The cultural village showcases the tribal lifestyles lived by the many ethnic groups that lace the beautiful Land of Hornbills, Sarawak. There are about 150 people living in the village, demonstrating traditional daily activities for you to experience the arts, crafts, games and delicacies of the 7 major ethnic groups.

Great day out. The village was lovely and our guide very friendly and informative. We were lucky to see an orangutan at feeding time - apparently this is always the case and we hadn’t appreciated we were only at the park fir feeding time.
Great way to get a glimpse of Sarawak Culture

We had a lovely time on this tour - great way to get a brief understanding of the Sarawak Native Culture. Mr kent, our guide, was very informative and attentive. He explained us the tribal rituals and characteristics well. Dont miss the performance at the end.
We were also lucky to see a mother Chimpanzee and her two babies at the Orangutan center but not much to explore there otherwise
An amazing and wonderful tour. Thoroughly recommend!

We had an awesome day. My daughter and I were lucky to be the only ones on tour as I guess the country has only started opening up after 2 and a half years of lockdown from foreign visitors. Our guide, Alex Wee, was a walking encyclopaedia who knew everything about the flora and fauna, history and the various tribes of Sarawak. We learned so much about the orangutans and we were fortunate enough to see 5 of them, including a baby! Although artificially created for tourists, the Sarawak Cultural Village was a great way to learn about the different tribes of Sarawak and everyone at the park was so friendly and genuinely eager to show you their culture and heritage. 2 nice ladies took the time to play with and teach my daughter how to play congkak, the traditional Malay game. I would thoroughly recommend Mangunatip Holidays and hope you’ll be lucky enough to get Alex as your guide.
